India News: Heavy rains disaster lashes Srinagar

India News: With the water level of Alaknanda rising and flowing on the national highway near ITI and Srinagar, landslides and boulders have closed 53 motor roads to traffic and only eight motor roads maintained by the Public Works Department and the Srinagar-Kotdwar National high way are open for traffic in the district. In spite of the claims repeatedly made by the State Government regarding preparedness for disasters, the recent downpour has exposed the reality of such claims.
