Tonight with Deepak Chaurasia : Under pressure after the Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh in which 28 people including top state Congress leaders were killed, ADGP Mukesh Gupta said if probe revealed inaction on part of some officials, action will be taken against them.
Answering why the security officials were not equipped with AK47s, the Chhattisgarh ADGP said, Nand Kumar Patel had requested us not to provide AK47s for his protection.
"It is difficult for us to estimate the numbers of the Naxals and how they are spread out. The Maoists can assemble and launch an attack very quickly and then flee from the spot. The area is forested and Odisha border is just a few kilometres away. There are moles, but the information of the movement of the motorcade was well know."
