The scam dates back to 1999-2000 when over 3000 junior teachers were recruited in Haryana. Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala allegedly asked his director for Primary Education to hold a separate interview.
This was for the people who paid between Rs 3 and 4 lakh as bribes and had their marks increased in the interview. The scam came to light when the Supreme Court was given the original interview list.
