Inter-Community Marriages are crime?

The medieval mindset of the society is the basic problem of what actually inter community marriages is facing today. During education period we are being taught that there is no bar of religion or castes in any case, but the condition still remains the same.

Why always the consequence of inter caste and inter religion marriages is death, the couples are forced to be live as fugitives.
