'Momo Challenge' Hoax Is Putting Children at Risk The Momo challenge is a reoccurring
viral hoax that's once again risen to the spotlight. The Momo character
itself is actually a sculpture created
by Keisuke Aisawa on display at the Vanilla
Gallery in Japan. The videos supposedly
feature the ominous character
instructing kids to commit suicide. YouTube denies the existence
of these videos on their platform. Google,
via statement While the original videos may not be real,
the publicity surrounding Momo is an emerging issue. People are ironically creating
videos because of the trend
and using Momo to control younger,
easily-impressionable children. Although there aren’t any deaths
linked to the challenge, there are
scattered reports of kids being
manipulated into harming themselves.
