Il Dinosauro e i Manichini è un progetto nato nell autunno del 2016 da Andrea Campostrini che in seguito allo scioglimento del gruppo di cui faceva parte (Nom De Plume), decide di continuare a dar vita ai suoi testi e musiche. Andrea, manichino anch'esso come altri amici che nel tempo si prestano alla collaborazione, tra questi Alessandro Bussola, tra i più presenti. Insieme cominciano a creare una band composta da chiunque porti idee buone. Andrea realizza i suoi brani suonando spesso da solo ma ci tiene a dire che Il Dinosauro e I Manichini sono sempre una band perche risultato di un percorso umano e musicale con le persone incontrate nell arco degni anni. Il nome nasce da una suggestione in cui noi tutti siamo come manichini, sempre in vetrina tra like, opulenza e benessere fittizio e a volte ci voltiamo indietro a guardare le origini con la voglia di tornare a vivere realmente un vita piu pratica, all'essere esseri preistorici e voler isolarci in tutto ciò in un contesto piu terreno e offrendo dei contenuti come la musica. I testi sono così, terreni, nel vero senso della parola nati dalla terra alla quale Andrea è molto affezzionato grazie al suo lavoro e parlano di cose semplici di vita vissuta tra amici amori natura e situazioni. Lo stile è particolare, lo strumento di formazione del cantautore veronese è la batteria e solo in seguito si avvicina alla chitarra, mantenendo sempre quell'approccio e quella visione ritmica e percussiva. Il progetto di Andrea prosegue così e prende forma, e intraprende una collaborazione con New Model Label per la realizzazione del suo album di esordio, in collaborazione con il produttore Alberto Nemo e altri manichini che gli girano attorno.
Il Dinosauro e i Manichini (The Dinosaur and The Dummies) is a project created in 2016 by Andrea Campostrini, singer and songwriter from Verona. Everything started after his previus band, Nom De Plume, broke up and Andrea decided to go on and keep on writing his own songs and lyrics. Andrea as a dummy, as well as all his other friends that took part to the project, expecially guitar player Alessandro Bussola who was the most present in recordings and live shows. Despite the fact that most of the songs are created and written by himself, the singer loves to consider Il Dinosauro e I Manichini as a real band because all the music is the result of an human experience of palying with others and sharing. The name is a reflection on the contemporary world, of life looked through the lens of social networks in which all the people are posing still as dummies, giving an image of fake opulence and happyness. Andrea loves to look to the past, to his origins and roots, to an easier and simplier life, like the prehistorical creatures used to live, in close connection to the earth. His musical approach is original, born as a drummer, he converts to guitar, keeping a rhythmi approach to his playing and songwriting. In 2018 he started working with New Model Label for the production of his debut album, with the collaboration of producer Alberto Nemo and of dummies that wanted to share his project and ideas.
