British tourist Auj-e Taqaddas has been handed a six-month jail sentence for slapping an immigration officer in Bali, after video of the assault was widely shared on social media. The video also showed the 42-year-old woman’s expletive-laden rant directed at the officer from Indonesian immigration. She had been informed she must pay a US$4,000 fine for overstaying her visa. Taqaddas was arrested after missing several court dates. She had pleaded not guilty saying the video was edited.
