Nutan Behl (better known as Nutan) was a legendary actress who gave several blockbusters in a career of over four decades. She is regarded as one of the finest female actors in the history of Hindi cinema who has gives some unmemorable performances. On her death anniversary, some unknown facts about the actress. Nutan started her big screen debut as a child artist, at the age of 14, in Hamari Beti (1950). The movie was directed by her mother Shobhna Samarth. She hailed from a filmy family as her father was a director and sister Tanuja was also an actress. Nutan has given some noteworthy performances in films such as Sujata, Bandini, Milan, Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki, Sone Ki Chidiya, Saraswatichandra, etc. Bandini (1963), in which Nutan played a young prisoner, is widely believed to be her best performance. Nutan acted opposite Dilip Kumar for the first time in the 1986 blockbuster Karma. She also worked with Dev Anand in films like popular films like Paying Guest, Baarish , Manzil and Tere Ghar Ke Samne. She married naval Lieutenant-Commander Rajnish Behl in October 1959.
