Director Karan Johar Turns Designer!

Director Karan Johar turned designer for the jewellery label Gehna and unveiled his signature collection ‘KJo For Gehna’ at Aqaba in Lower Parel, Mumbai on Tuesday. Bollywood actresses Ileana D’Cruz and Nimrat Kaur walked the ramp for Karan at the launch.
While Nimrat sported ear cuffs and a cocktail ring from Karan’s collection, Ileana was seen in tassel earrings from the filmmaker’s line.
“Creativity has a limitless horizon. I have always enjoyed designing and at the same time, I am always open to experimentation. When the opportunity came along to design for Gehna Jewellers, I took it up as a challenge. The underlying idea was to design a collection that gleams on the wearer. We have used an exotic mix of metals and stones crafted in contemporary silhouettes to design a collection for men and women that is glamorous yet wearable. Working with the Gehna team has been a great experience," Karan said.
The guest for the evening included Shaheen Abbas, Shaina NC, Rupa Fabiani, Rouble Nagi, Chetan and Lavinia Hansraj, Rashmi Nigam, Kailash and Aarti Surendranath, Pria Kataria Puri, Nainik Rupani, Prachi Shah, Arzan and Khushnuma Khambatta, Malti Jain, Bina Aziz, Shree Radhe Khanduja, Sherry Rane, Nirnajan Hiranandani, Sophie Premji and Azmina Rahimtoola.
