The Vedic literature states that Adi Parashakti has no Roopa (form). In other words, she is unmanifested.

However, the later literary mentions show that this supreme energy of the universe has different facets.

Within these forms, the three most prominent forms of Shakti are collectively called Tridevi.

They are Lakshmi - the goddess of wealth, Durga (Parvati) - the goddess of valor and Saraswati - the goddess of knowledge.

According to the Hindu Puranas, the evolution of these incarnations took place along with the Trideva (Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwar) respectively.

The Vedic and Tantrik forms of these goddesses are the foremost manifestations of fortune, power and knowledge.

The nine days and nights of Navaratri have three days each devoted to the worship of these three goddesses and their three other forms.

Hence all of these nine forms collectively are known as Navadurga (nine divine deities). Each of these deities represents Shanti, Shakti, Saiyam, Sanmaan, Saralta, Safalta, Samridhi, Sanskaar and Swaasthya.
