Jigarthanda is a 2014 Tamil Musical Gangster film written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. JIgarthanda songs are composed by Santhosh Narayanan. Jigarthanda stars Siddharth, Lakshmi Menon and Bobby Simha in lead roles while Nasser, Ambika, Karunakaran and others play supporting roles.
Jigarthanda stars Siddharth as a short film maker whose film is rejected in a competition. He is offered a chance by a producer to come up with the script depicting a Don's life on the lines of Nayakan and Godfather. Siddharth travels to Madurai to prepare the script on the live of a Don Bobby Simha.
At the wrong time he gets caught by Bobby Simha and gang to the extent of his perspired forehead facing Bobby Simha’s ferocious gun. When Siddharth tells him the truth of his spying on Bobby Simha for his directorial venture, even though Bobby Simha is Jigarthanda hearted he is more than excited. Siddharth gets a pleasant shock when Bobby Simha decides to narrate his own story. Siddharth does a video coverage of all experiences of Bobby Simha from childhood days’ assaults to present day live s. Lakshmi Menon gets irritated to the core when Siddharth reveals the truth to Lakshmi Menon that he is not truly in love with her but befriended her only to get info on Bobby Simha. Fuming Lakshmi Menon couldn’t stay cool like Jigarthanda but burns with ire on Siddharth, and puts Siddharth in a fix when she suggests Bobby Simha to don his own role in his biopic.
From this point, it is a comedy roller-coaster ride to the audience but Siddharth’s character finds himself in a BIG mess. Bobby Simha threatens the producer Aadukalam Naren and gets his consent. Siddharth refuses to budge but shows the gun on him. After a motivating speech from ‘petti kadai pazhani’ Sangili Murugan Siddharth agrees to take up the challenge. In an audition session, Siddharth again gets depressed at seeing the ‘Annamalai’ act by Bobby Simha. So, Siddharth suggest acting classes for Bobby Simha. The roller-coaster ride goes on extreme mode when Bobby Simha takes up acting classes. To add to the agony of Siddharth, the acting teacher (Guru Somasundaram as Muthu) approves Bobby Simha. Movie ing starts.. Bobby Simha goes on eating film rolls with his disgusting acting. The photographer, stunt crew, choreographer and everyone have a tough time with Bobby Simha. All said and done the movie gets ready to get released. Bobby Simha uses his money and might to book all theaters in the locality.
Siddharth waits anxiously outside the theatre hall at the day of release. His crew and family members are in to experience a surprise.
