The Energy Regulatory Commission has announced an overall increase in the price of fuel across the country.

The prices which take effect Tuesday night will be in force for the next one month.

A litre of petrol has increased by Sh1.31 to retail at Sh98.59 in Nairobi, diesel has gone up by Sh1.25 to Sh84.56 while kerosene has increased marginally by 96 cents to sell at Sh62.74.

ERC Director General Joseph Ng'ang'a has attributed the general rise to increase in landing cost as result of a continued weaker shilling against the US dollar in the month of June.

In Mombasa motorists will buy petrol at Sh95.27 a litre, diesel at Sh81.27 while kerosene will sell at Sh60.

In Nakuru, petrol will retail at Sh99.3, diesel at 85.47 and kerosene at Sh63.57 while in Kisumu petrol will be selling at Sh100.44, diesel at Sh86.68 and kerosene at Sh64.59.
