According to a report by Geek.com, China's Chang'e 4 mission seeds have become the first plants to sprout on the moon's surface. The Chinese lander, which touched down on the far side of the moon on January 3rd, carried soil with cotton and potato seeds, fruit fly eggs, and yeast. This seed experiment was reportedly intended to test how space impacts photosynthesis and respiration.
