S. Korea to devise financial contingency plans to prepare for Brexit uncertainties

The South Korean government says British lawmakers' rejection of Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit deal will have a limited impact on global financial markets.
That said,... relevant ministries will draft contingency plans to swiftly prepare for any mass fluctuations in the local securities market.
Speaking at a meeting on Wednesday, First Vice Minister of Economy and Finance Lee Ho-seung said regardless of what happens with Brexit,... its effect on South Korea's real economy will be limited as the country's trade volume with the UK is relatively low.
But he admitted uncertainties will increase for Korean companies doing business in Britain.
South Korea plans to push ahead with a bilateral free trade agreement with Britain once it leaves the European Union,... while maintaining its current tariff rates with the EU.
