Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival attracts 1 million visitors in just 9 days

The ongoing annual Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival has been attracting more than one million visitors annually for the past 13 years.
The festival organization committee said Sunday that visitor numbers this year topped the one million mark in under ten days... surpassing the milestone in record time.
Launched in 2003, the event, which gives visitors the opportunity to catch mountain trout with their bare hands among other things,... was chosen as South Korea's best festival by the culture ministry in 2010 and has grown into one of the top four winter festivals in the world.
