Kids are messy, and most of the time, they have no idea either. Sometimes, as parents, we just want to be able to give them a cup of water without them spilling it everywhere. So we have two great DIY Cup Hacks that will (hopefully) make your life a little easier. Whether on-the-go or even at home, you won’t have to watch them like a hawk all the time. Plus, any dad can do it!
Our first hack is Instant Sippy Cup. Simply cover the top with any Press and Seal. Because the Press and Seal makes a tight seal, you don’t have to worry about spillage. Cut it to a desirable length and make sure it is secured. You can easily insert a straw into the Press and Seal to make your own sippy cup. Keep in mind: These won’t be spill-free once you puncture the Press and Seal, but it does eliminate some of the chance for messes.
Our second hack is called Magnetic Fridge Cups. Before you start, always take precaution when using magnets around kids. We all have seen stories on the news about kids swallowing magnets. Just be careful. The first step is to hot-glue two magnet circles to the side of a plastic cup. If you are worried about kids prying the magnets off, you can try superglue instead of hot glue.
Allow about 10 minutes for the glue to dry and cool completely — then take it to the fridge! This simple DIY hack makes cups a lot more accessible to kids, and they can easily pour water for themselves without bothering you.
