In Ethiopia, as a capital rises, history rots

The Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa is pursuing architectural modernity, often at the expense of its ancient heritage. Throughout the city, buildings in the traditional Ethiopian Empire style are increasingly rare. Those that remain are neglected and often left in a state of advanced decay, as money is instead diverted towards newer skyscrapers.
