S. Korea and Japan to discuss recent 'aircraft targeting' controversy

The nation's defense ministry said Tuesday that Seoul and Tokyo will use dialogue to resolve any misunderstandings over a South Korean vessel's use of a radar system last week.
Those comments followed Japanese claims that a Korean destroyer's fire-control radar was used multiple times over a period of several hours,... based on Japan's analysis of radio frequencies.
Tokyo added that its P-1 patrol aircraft wasn't flying abnormally low as Seoul claimed.
South Korea denied Japan's claims the warship's fire-control radar locked-on to the Japanese aircraft,... a move considered hostile.
Seoul added the destroyer was using the radar only to search for a North Korean vessel in international waters.
