America’s Next Top Model alum, Jael Strauss has died after a rapid battle with breast cancer. She was 34-years-old and passed away on Tuesday morning, December 4 at around 11 a.m while in hospice care.
Two months ago, Jael announced she had Stage 4 breast cancer. In October, she posted to Facebook about the diagnosis. She wrote, “I was gonna write some long thing but some of you guys deserve to know.”
“On October 2nd I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. It has aggressively spread throughout my body and is incurable. With treatment, it may prolong my life longer than the ‘few months’ doctors said I could make it. I don’t want to die,” she continued.
After news of her illness broke out, several friends started a GoFundMe page to help her pay her medical bills.
The model previously suffered from a crystal meth addiction and at one point, was homeless.
The reality star was a contestant on the famed modeling competition show during season eight.
