Florida Completes First Round Of Recounts

Florida election officials on Thursday completed their initial recount of ballots.
The recounts were for races for the U.S. Senate and governor’s seat.
They did not immediately release updated statewide figures.
In both races, the initial margins of victory were below the 0.5 percentage point.
At a margin of .05 or less, the state law requires a recount of ballots.
If the margin is below 0.25 percent by the end of the electronic recount, a second round will need to be done by hand.
A federal judge in Georgia also ordered state election officials to count previously rejected ballots in its governor’s race.
