The South Korean government is pushing for a fresh round of deregulation measures aimed at helping new industries prosper.
During a weekly meeting with ministers on Thursday, Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon said the government is overhauling 82 regulations in new sectors,... including hydrogen fueled vehicles, drones, virtual reality, and bio-pharmaceutical.
The PM especially underscored the plight of the hydrogen fueled car sector, saying there are fewer than six-hundred hydrogen cars in the country, due to strict regulations on the installation of charging stations.
Stressing the job creation potential of the new businesses, the Prime Minister urged ministries to take independent measures to strip away red tape.
