Hongkonger Ng Ka-long’s dream of being the top shuttler of the world’s fastest moving object in sport

Did you know that the shuttlecock, or the badminton birdie, is the fastest moving object in sport?
According to the Guinness World Records, the fastest badminton hit during competition was by Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei, who performed a 417km/h smash during the Japan Open final in 2017. That’s even faster than a Formula One car.
The world’s 14th top badminton player, 24-year-old Ng Ka-long, showed the South China Morning Post how he plays the fastest sport. The Hong Kong native is currently heading into the 2018 Hong Kong Badminton Open Championship, which runs from November 13-18 at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Hung Hom.
