The death toll from the devastating Camp Fire has increased to 48 after Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea says six more bodies were found on Tuesday, November 13.

The number makes the fire the deadliest in state history by a wide margin, beating out the 1933 Griffith Park fire that killed 29.

More than 5,000 personnel across states have been working around the clock to fight the fire, which stood at 35% containment as of Tuesday evening. This video, filmed in Concow, shows an air tanker releasing a long stream of retardant onto the fire.

Fire officials say a total of 8,817 structures have been destroyed by the fire. At least 7,600 of them are single-family homes.
