SK Wyverns win 1st baseball championship in 8 years

The KBO has crowned it's latest champions: the Incheon-based SK Wyverns.
There might be some sore heads in the city this morning as fans hit the streets to celebrate their first Korean Series win in eight years with a stunning win over the hot favorites, the Doosan Bears.
Lee Seung-jae has the story.
Homeruns, homeruns, and more homeruns.
Words that pretty much sum up the SK Wyverns' season.
Up three games to two over the regular season champions, Doosan Bears,... the SK Wyverns used the longballs once again to win game 6.
But it didn't come easy.
Down 4 to 3, SK's Choi Jeong drilled a 2-out, 2 strike pitch from Doosan's Josh Lindblom at the top of the 9th to tie the game at 4,... before Han Dong-min clinched it with a monster homerun in the top of the 13th, to give SK the 5 to 4 victory.
Thanks to the 13th inning heroics,... Han was named the Korean Series MVP.
The power hitting slugger is no stranger to big homeruns,... as he sent the Wyverns to the Korean Series with a walk-off homerun in Game 5 of the previous playoff series against the Nexen Heroes.
It was a huge upset for the champions,... who entered the series as the underdogs,... having finished 14-and-a-half games behind Doosan in second place in the regular season.
Doosan, who had 20 days of rest before the Korean Series looked rusty,... as SK outpitched and outhit the regular season champions.
The championship was a perfect sendoff for the Wyverns' skipper Trey Hillman,... who won't be returning to the dugout next year,... after announcing that he will return home to the U.S. to spend more time with his ailing parents.
With the victory, Hillman becomes the first manager to have won a championship in South Korea and Japan.
