The Ferrari History
Ferrari was formed in Maranello and Modena, Italy in 1929 by Enzo Ferrari.
They started out creating race cars, and sponsoring them. Not long after in 1947, they started producing street legal cars. After running into a financial burden, Ferrari sold his company to fiat in 1969, and he headed the racing division until his death in 1988. Ferrari has been extremely successful in its racing holding 15 titles in formula one alone.
They also participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and hold 9 world titles there. Between 1947 and 1988, Ferrari has over 5000 wins in all.
Today, Ferrari has some magnificent cars including the 360 Modena, F430, 599Gtb, and Enzo which was the most powerful naturally aspirated production car before the Bugatti Veyron outperformed it. With only 399 produced, the Ferrari Enzo is a truly magnificent car. It is equipped with a V12 engine pumping out 660 horsepower. This car is capable of reaching 217 miles per hour. The car was listed at $650,000 but collectors are today paying twice that.
