Lots of hair metal and that "New-Jack Swing" sound to go around, as well as the earliest appearance of rap songs. Janet Jackson and Paula Abdul also get 4 #1s from their albums with "Rhythm Nation 1814" and "Forever Your Girl"- the latter eventually getting 7 singles to chart in the Top 5. Roxette and NKOTB haven't been around too long and they're along getting those number ones like its nothing. Milli Vanilli is popular this year, but that won't last long.

Some of these songs are from movies. For those that don't obviously have a trailer occupying them:

#45- From the movie "Dream a Little Dream"
#44- From the movie "Batman" (if it wasn't subtle enough)
#19 - From the movie "Ghostbusters ll"
#7- From the movies "Beaches"
