The Glover Trophy featured the type of front-engined GP cars that that had starred in the 1954-1960 running of the event. Julian Bronson led on all but the last lap before his Scarab, one of the three American cars in the race, ground to a halt. This let Roger Wills, who had followed Bronson throughout the contest, to inherit the victory with his Lotus 16. Moving up to second was an often three-wheeling Tony Wood in the unique Maserati 250F-based Tec-Mec, who had shadowed the leaders throughout.
