S. Korea reveals proposed new passport designs

The Ministry of Culture and the foreign ministry revealed their draft proposals for South Korea's new passport design... which will be used from 2020.
For the first time in 32 years, the cover will shed its green color and change to navy.
Each page will include illustrations of Korea's cultural heritage.
The passport numbers will also change, with an alphabet letter inserted in the middle... to increase the number of possible sequences.
The resident registration digits will be removed, to prevent leak of personal data.
The government will announce its final design in December, after taking public opinion into account.
