Comicbook.com reports New Balance is releasing a collection based on "Neon Genesis Evangelion"
The Japanese mecha anime series was produced by Gainax and Tatsunoko Production.
Directed by Hideaki Anno, it was broadcast on TV in Tokyo from 1995 to 1996.
The series revolved around teenagers piloting mechas called "Evangelions"
The teens battled alien beings called "Angels."
The show is considered one of the true classics of the genre.
Based on New Balance’s Fresh Foam Cruz silhouette, the new kicks tap into the anime's look.
Each model references one of the Evangelion Units, meaning fans can choose their mecha.
