Emergency crews rescued people from flooded neighborhoods in Conway, South Carolina, on Saturday, September 22, as the Waccamaw River set a flood record and kept rising.The river is expected to crest on Tuesday at 22 feet – more than four feet higher than the record set by Hurricane Matthew’s flood waters in 2016. On Sunday morning, the river was just below 20 feet.Hurricane Florence made landfall on September 14 and moved slowly over the Carolinas over the next few days, filling streams and lakes to capacity and beyond.
