Infants and a Newborn Stabbed at New York Day Care New York police have confirmed that five people—including one newborn and two infants — The victims are reported to be in critical but stable condition at local hospitals. Nine babies and some of their parents were in the home during the attack, according to NYPD Assistant Chief Juanita Holmes. The suspect is a 52-year-old female employee of the day-care center. She, too, was taken to a hospital after slashing her own wrist. Lt. Thomas Antonetti said that the motive in the 3:45 a.m. attack is unclear at this time.
