Jogger Runs Into Restaurant Covered In Her Own Blood After Being Brutally Stabbed

A young female jogger was brutally stabbed to death in Washington D.C. this Tuesday evening, days after getting engaged.
The woman, Wendy Karina Martinez, 35, was the victim of a “random attack” according to local authorities. While her wounds ended up being fatal, Martinez made a final and heartbreaking attempt at saving her own life when she stumbled into a Chinese restaurant, covered in her own blood, to beg for help.
Terrifying surveillance footage shows the moment Martinez rushed into the eatery and collapsed in front of the counter.
Scared customers are seen jumping out of her way before realizing she is injured, and rushing to her side.

Chief of Police Peter Newsham said in a press conference this Wednesday that the now-censored video shows bystanders trying to revive Martinez while waiting for EMS to arrive.
Martinez was transported to a nearby hospital following the senseless stabbing and was pronounced dead soon after.
“This is one of those types of unsettling incidents that sometimes happens in large cities, but it seems like a singular incident,” said Newsham.
The killer, who was caught on tape fleeing the scene in a mustard-colored sweatshirt has now been arrested.
The knife he used to attack Martinez was found at the scene.

“Wendy Karina Martinez was the light of our lives. Not only was she an avid runner, but she was a devout Christian, a wonderful friend, and a driven professional,” Martinez’s family said in a statement obtained by NBC 4 Washington, following her death.
“Everything you hope that a daughter and a friend would be. She was also excited to be planning her upcoming wedding to her fiancé, Daniel Hincapie. They were engaged just last week,” the statement continued.
