Kitten Stuck in River Shannon Lock Rescued After Being Spotted by Keen-Eyed Teen

A dramatic scene unfolded in the central Irish town of Athlone on September 9, when a teenager snorkeler in the River Shannon noticed a pair of paws sticking out from a lock chamber on the riverbank.A member of the Athlone Sub Aqua Club, Jonathon Canavan, “went to the rescue,” the club said in video posted of the incident.
