India will go into the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval on Friday (7th September) having lost the series 3-1 in a pulsating fourth test in Southampton.
India is the number one test team in the world but finished up on the wrong side of a close-fought affair in the first test at Edgbaston, before being thrashed by an innings and 159 runs at Lord's. Although the tables were turned at Trent Bridge, Nottingham as Virat Kohli's side won by 203 runs at Trent Bridge.
"The scoreline says 3-1 which means India have lost the series." said head coach Ravi Shastri "What the scoreline doesn't say is India could have been three one (up) or the scoreline two two".
