Tourists flee as flames break out in busy Thai hotel

Tourists ran from a hotel in Pattaya, Thailand, on September 4 after flames broke out in one of the rooms.

The fire started at the Siwalai City Place hotel at 6:30 pm local time. Staff helped to evacuate the guests before fire crews arrived to battle the blaze.

The emergency services spent 30 minutes getting the blaze under control and extinguishing the flames.

Staff at the hotel estimated that the fire had caused around one million baht (23,500gbp) in damage.
