Michelle Bachelet Is The UN's New High Commissioner For Human Rights

According to Reuters, former Chilean President Michelle Bachelet is now at the United Nations.
Bachelet is now serving as the High Commissioner for Human Rights for the UN.
She was chosen by Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to succeed Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein of Jordan.
The UN General Assembly approved Bachelet's appointment last month.
On her first day in office, High Commissioner Bachelet called upon Myanmar's government to release two reporters who were jailed on the same day.
