Vehicles battle through flooded roads after downpours in Thailand coastal city

Vehicles drove through waterlogged roads after heavy rain swept across Thailand on Monday, September 3.

Monsoons sweeping in from the Andaman Sea in southern Thailand moved upwards across the land and into the gulf on Thailand sea before hitting central areas in Bangkok by late afternoon local time.

The heavy rain spread to the east, where video shows cars, coaches, mopeds and pedestrians in coastal city Pattaya struggling through the water after roads were flooded.

Downpours left roads submerged in between 60 cm and 90 cm of water. Police and army officials helped to provide relief with district sheriff Naris Niwapantawong warning residents to make further preparations if the rain continues.
