China’s dinosaur kingdom

In the 1970s, oil prospectors uncovered one of the world’s richest deposits of Jurassic-era fossils just outside the Sichuan city of Zigong. Over the past decade, the city has developed the world’s largest industry for large-scale animatronic dinosaurs, accounting for more than 80 per cent of the total global market. Guo Qihong established Zigong’s biggest dinosaur company, Gengu Longteng, in 2007.
