This is the remarkably well-preserved corpse of an ancient foal (baby horse) found in the Siberian region of Yakutia. The carcass was discovered by a joint expedition of scientists from the North-Eastern Federal University of Yakutsk and Kindai University of Osaka, Japan. The animal's skin, hair, hooves and tail can be seen, as the scientist examine their find in Yatutsk's Mammoth Museum. The region is well known for fossils of the woolly mammoth found in its permafrost.
Head of the museum, Semyon Grigoryev was part of the expedition and marvelled at how well the discovery was preserved.
