Little Orphaned Bat Sucks on Dummy After Surviving Dog Attack in Queensland

This little bat was lucky to survive after he and his mother were attacked by a dog in Queensland, Australia.But the bat, named Master Jaffa, was sadly left orphaned by the attack after his mother died from her injuries, his carer Denise Wade said. He had stitches on the top of his head and along his cheek after it split open, the volunteer at Bat Conservation Rescue Queensland said.In this video, poor little Jaffa can be seen sucking on a dummy, which is supposed to soothe him, she added.In a Facebook caption accompanying the clip, Wade said she expected him to make a full recovery and will eventually release him back into the wild.
