Pork gets caught up in US - China trade war

In China, the world’s biggest producer of meat, pork farmers are feeling the heat of the trade war as the price of soybean-based feed has risen. In July China imposed 25 per cent tariffs on imports of US soybeans, which are mainly used in cooking oil and animal feed. The industry is also under threat from an oversupply problem, with pork prices likely to stay low for consumers.
