PRESENTED BY DAVID FERREIRA *LUCKY LUPE
Peter Hossell a.k.a. Pete Hassle, 66, is a old bluesman from London, UK. Peter was there when the english became fascinated with the american blues.
He was around 15 years old when started with the blues. Inte the middle 60's, he sang with the blues duo Missouri Compromise and played 'jug' with the Panama Limited Jug band.
Pete Hossell also played in a band called SCREW, the first band who played the opening act on the famous concert of Rolling Stones at the Hyde Park, in 1969 (Pete was 17).
He has played with great english musicians in the 70's and 80's, like Clem Clempson (Humble Pie), Ronnie Leahy (Stone the Crows), Tony Mcphee, and others. Also appears on the Groundhogs album cover, Blues Obituary, inside a coffin.
Pete lives in Brazil for almost two decades, always playing with many bands and acoustic gigs. He met Ziggy playing in Sao Paulo's night around 2010, when formed with Antônio Castro and Alex Ac the Pete Hossell the Screw'd Blues Band (name that came from his old band, a kind of tribute).
The band plays also in massively busking every sunday at Paulista Avenue.
The Screw'd does not just sound like a traditional blues band, its a lot rock and roll too, like the 60s and 70s...
Screw'd played in Ferrock Fest in 2014 with the iconic band Made in Brazil, Patrulha do Espaço and Uriah Heep.
Pete Hassle & Screw'd has new album 'More Screwed than you'll ever Be', released in June 28, 2018.
'Blues is Low' is composed by Peter Hossell.
