Generic EpiPen
Approved by FDA Those who require the assistance of the life-saving auto-injectors, EpiPens, will be happy to know that a generic version has just been approved by the FDA. Many people have had a hard time obtaining an EpiPen in recent years due to skyrocketing costs and product shortages. Mylan, the maker of EpiPens, has been under scrutiny for quite some time since raising
the price of a two-pack of EpiPens to $609. In fact, Sarah Jessica Parker, who was a spokesperson for Mylan, cut ties with the
company over the price increase in 2016. The new generic version, which is
the first-ever FDA approved alternative
to EpiPens, is made by Teva Pharmaceuticals USA. Scott Gottlieb, FDA Commissioner, via statement
