South Korea and the U.S. are currently discussing repatriating to South Korea.... dozens of war remains currently stored in the U.S. state of Hawaii.
The U.S. informed Seoul's defense ministry that around 1-hundred-80 sets of war remains in Hawaii.... are estimated to be of Asian descent based on DNA testing,... and 35 of them are highly likely to be South Korean.
A military official at Seoul's defense ministry told Arirang News this morning that,... officials at South Korea's MND Agency for Killed-in-action Recovery and Identification..... will depart to the U.S. next week to carry out further tests on the remains.
The roughly 1-hundred-80 sets of remains were either sent by North Korea to the U.S. or were discovered through North Korea-U.S. joint digs between 1995 and 2005.
