On the anniversary of Woodstock, The New Yorker takes a close look at the music festival's impact on pop culture. The lineup included Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Joan Baez, and Jefferson Airplane. A year later, the world got to see the debauchery in an Oscar-winning documentary.
