Woman rescues girl with leg stuck in escalator

A woman saved a 10-year-old girl after she got her leg stuck in an escalator at a shopping mall in northwestern China.
The CCTV video, filmed in Guyuan City in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on August 9, shows a ten-year-old girl stepping on to the escalator with a friend, then falling into a missing panel, trapping her leg.
A woman with her son witnessing the incident runs to hold the girl immediately, while calls for help from other passersby.
A man presses the button to stop the escalator, then more passersby run to help her.
Rescuers freed the girl and sent her to hospital.
The escalator was closed and the cause was being investigated, reports said.
