The Swedish furniture mega brand Ikea has recently expanded its empire to India.

The first Indian store was opened August 9 in Hyderabad, the capital of southern India's Telangana state.

Local reports exclaim that as many as 40'000 potential customers arrived at the new location in Hyderabad for the grand opening. This is the first of 25 Ikea stores that are going to be built in India.

Security barriers are used to guide and keep the swathes of people from overflowing around the makeshift entrance. Authorities anticipated a large turnout, children can be seen grabbing onto their parents as they wait for the gates to open.
