A crew member with PG&E (Pacific Gas and Electric), a gas and power company in California, died while conducting restoration work in response to the Carr fire, bringing the death toll to seven. Jairus Ayeta, who was in his 20s, worked as an apprentice lineman for the company. In earlier works, two firefighters and four victims lost their lives to the blaze. This video, shared to Facebook by Mike Daly, shows the scene in Lewiston at around 2 pm on August 5. The Carr fire has destroyed more than 1,000 homes and forced tens of thousands to evacuate. As of the evening of August 5, the fire was 41% contained.
