The Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain, is undoubtedly one of the best known masterpieces of Gaudi. Commenced by the architect Vilar in 1882 in classic neo-Gothic style, Gaudi took the project over a year later and dedicated the last 40 years of his life to it until his death. Using Gaudi's plans, construction is still ongoing and is expected to be completed in about 2025.
