Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter Under Review for Sexual Assault Actress and singer Melissa Schuman made the claim of sexual assault against Carter back in November. The claim is currently under review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The incident, in which Schuman alleges she was “forced to engage in an act against my will," occurred in 2003. At the time the two were working on the film 'The Hollow,' and Schuman claims Carter assaulted her at his apartment while they were socializing on a day off. Carter, 38, has denied the claim saying that he's "shocked and saddened" by the accusations. Nick Carter, via Dealine Hollywood Schuman has said the #MeToo movement empowered her to come forward.
